John has customer spend data for his company. He is looking forward to compare two columns, Email_1 and Email_2. He wants to check if the values within the two column is same. There can be minor variation within the two emails, and John wants to know which ones has differences and which are the same.
Compare two text in Excel with Exact function
- Step 1: The first parameter of Exact function is “text1” to compare. “text1” is the cell which contains first Text value. For this example it is Email 1 i.e. cell G5. So we will be entering the same.
=EXACT(G5, )
- Step 2: The second parameter is “text2”. “text2” is the cell which contains second Text value. For this example it is Email 2 i.e. cell H5. So we will be entering the same.
=EXACT(G5, H5)
Step 3: Copy the cell I5 and paste the formulas to rest of the cells in the column. This will generate updated Check column for whole table.
