Working with Data columns in Excel is many a times a necessity. There are various data tables that contains one or more date columns. There can be a need to work with the date column to do various calculations. One need can be to find the Hour value from given date time. John has customer spend data for his company. He has registration date value for all the persons. He wants to find the hour value of registration date time. Below example will help John to find the hour value from registration date.

Hour Formula in Excel
- Step 1: Hour function requires only one argument, that is the cell that contains date time value. Here Registration date is present in cell J5. So the syntax for the same will be:
=HOUR(J5)

- Step 2: Copy the cell K5 and paste the formulas to rest of the cells in the column. This will generate updated Hour column for whole table.
