  • Step 1: To find the month value from a given date in Excel, MONTH function is helpful. The key input for month function is Date value. Here Date of Birth is present in column J, so the syntax is as below:
                  =MONTH(J5)

  • Step 3: Copy the cell K5 and paste the formulas to rest of the cells in the column. This will generate updated Month of birth column for whole table.
