Remove duplicate tool is very handy option in Excel. It can make life easy for anyone working on data analysis. There can be a need to remove duplicates at a single column level, or remove duplicate at multiple column level. This functionality is also helpful for finding distinct values in a column. We will see with the help of an example how to remove duplicate rows in Excel.

- Step 1: Firstly Click on “Data Tab” from the main tabs.
- Step 2: Then click on Remove Duplicates option.
- Step 3: As we want to drop duplicates at all column level (i.e. comparing each column values), we can keep all the columns selected. Click ok
- Step 4: Finally a confirmation message will be displayed mentioning the details about number of records that are duplicates and are now removed. It also tells the number of unique values.
Thus, remove duplicate feature can be very helpful Excel. There can be many occasion where duplicate rows removal feature can be useful. The above example illustrates one such case.
