To sum all the values in a column, for this example sum of Yearly Spend we will use the below formula:

=SUM(J5:J24)

Here, this formula helps in adding up all the values from J5 to J24 (i.e. J5, J6, J7 …. J24). You can see below, with the help of the formula summation is easily possible.

How to Sum random cells in Excel

In the second example, we are trying to add some random cells. Here we are trying to add Yearly spend of Customer ID 1, 2 and 4. These corresponds to cell number J5, J6 and J8. Below is the formula that will help to achieve the results.

=SUM(J5,J6,J8)

This calculates the sum of some random cells. To achieve more such summation, cells can be added along with comma separators. Below is the summation results.
